01 — Sheet Extrusion Line
Sheet extrusion is a continuous manufacturing process in which polymer materials are heated, melted, mixed, co-extruded, calendered, and cooled to produce high-quality plastic sheets. A complete sheet extrusion line mainly consists of three key sections: extruders, die, and downstream equipment.
- Extruder
Raw materials are fed into the heated barrel, where they are heated, melted, and thoroughly mixed by the screw.
The molten material is then filtered, pressure-stabilized, and precisely metered before entering the co-extrusion die.
For our typical 3-layer structure (skin / core / skin), three extruders process the materials separately. The three molten layers are then combined through a co-extrusion feedblock to form a single sheet.
- Die
The die evenly distributes and shapes the molten plastic into a flat sheet, while precisely controlling the sheet width, thickness, and melt flow to achieve consistent product quality. - Downstream Equipment
The downstream equipment continuously draws the sheet from the die and provides precise control over sheet thickness and dimensions.
Depending on the product requirements, the required surface treatment can be applied during the processing stage. After sufficient cooling, the sheet is trimmed, cut to the required size, or wound into rolls to produce the finished material according to customer specifications.

Production Advantages

Thermoforming is a process in which extruded plastic sheets are heated and softened, then formed against molds using vacuum or air pressure. After cooling and solidification, they are made into three-dimensional packaging products or containers. This process works together with sheet extrusion to achieve integrated “sheet-to-product” production.
- Sheet Feeding & Heating
Plastic sheets or rolls are fed into the heating oven and uniformly heated to the appropriate softening temperature to ensure good flexibility and formability. - Forming
The softened sheet is transferred to the mold and formed by vacuum or air pressure, closely conforming to the mold cavity to create the required three-dimensional shape, such as trays, clamshells, and containers. - Cooling & Solidification
Air cooling or mold cooling is used to solidify the formed products, ensuring dimensional stability and surface quality. - Demolding & Trimming
After demolding, the products undergo cutting, edge trimming, and punching to achieve the required dimensions, followed by counting, stacking, and packaging.
